Coexistence of target-site and non-target-site mechanisms of glyphosate resistance in Amaranthus palmeri populations from Argentina

چکیده

Amaranthus palmeri S. Waston is currently one of the most problematic weeds worldwide. Biotypes with resistance to herbicides such as glyphosate and ALS inhibitors are now present in almost all Argentinian cultivable areas. In this work, we studied three different populations, some them previously characterized resistant inhibitors. Dose-response curves were conducted order assess effect on survival dry biomass populations. Subsequently, presence target-site (TSR) was studied. Results confirmed showing levels resistance, being R2 R3 significantly more than r1 population. A high prevalence P106S substitution detected while none increase relative EPSPS copy number noticed. Some surviving plants without any TSR mechanisms for population, suggesting non-target-site (NTSR).

Glyphosate Resistance in Tall Waterhemp (Amaranthus tuberculatus) from Mississippi is due to both Altered Target-Site and Nontarget-Site Mechanisms

A tall waterhemp population from Missisippi was suspected to be resistant to glyphosate. Glyphosate dose response experiments resulted in GR50 (dose required to reduce plant growth by 50%) values of 1.28 and 0.28 kg ae ha 21 glyphosate for the glyphosate-resistant (GR) and -susceptible (GS) populations, respectively, indicating a five-fold resistance. The absorption pattern of C-glyphosate betw...

Target and Non-target Site Mechanisms Developed by Glyphosate-Resistant Hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa L.) Populations from Mexico

In 2014 hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa L.) has been identified as being glyphosate-resistant in citrus orchards from Mexico. The target and non-target site mechanisms involved in the response to glyphosate of two resistant populations (R1 and R2) and one susceptible (S) were studied. Experiments of dose-response, shikimic acid accumulation, uptake-translocation, enzyme activity and 5-enolpyru...

Characterization of glyphosate resistance in cloned Amaranthus palmeri plants

Glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth from Georgia (GA), USA, possesses multiple copies of the gene that encodes 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS), the enzyme target site of this herbicide. The cloned plants of glyphosate-resistant and glyphosatesusceptible Palmer amaranth biotypes from Mississippi (MS), USA, and GA were evaluated for glyphosate injury (digital imaging) in leaf...

Gene amplification confers glyphosate resistance in Amaranthus palmeri.

The herbicide glyphosate became widely used in the United States and other parts of the world after the commercialization of glyphosate-resistant crops. These crops have constitutive overexpression of a glyphosate-insensitive form of the herbicide target site gene, 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS). Increased use of glyphosate over multiple years imposes selective genetic pres...

Glyphosate-Resistant Parthenium hysterophorus in the Caribbean Islands: Non Target Site Resistance and Target Site Resistance in Relation to Resistance Levels

Glyphosate has been the most intensely herbicide used worldwide for decades, and continues to be a single tool for controlling weeds in woody crops. However, the adoption of this herbicide in a wide range of culture systems has led to the emergence of resistant weeds. Glyphosate has been widely used primarily on citrus in the Caribbean area, but a study of resistance in the Caribbean islands of...
